Nigeria/Egypt: Lifters Storm Egypt for Olympic Qualifier

TEN Nigerian lifters would fly out today to Egypt to partake in the 2nd African Youth Olympic qualifier which holds from March 19 to March 26.

The lifters are made up of seven girls and three boys. Coach Patrick Bassey said yesterday that the lifters have been grilled to come back with medals and qualify for the World Championship which holds in Singapore. "These are budding lifters and they represent the best the country can afford.

As you can see, they have prepared well enough to face any opposition. And at the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, the boys and girls amazingly lifted weights more than their weights. Nigeria would take part in five weight categories out of the eight categories on parade.

Captain of the team, Ekoshoria Rachael, promised that they would come back with medals. "We've trained well and are ready to explode", she said. King Kalu, one of the three male lifters also promised to represent Nigeria well in Egypt. One striking thing about the lifters beyond their young ages was their beauty.

They looked more like Nollywood stars without any trace of bludgeoning muscles or veins running riots on their legs or faces. Biliki Otunla, one of the beautiful lasses laughed at the compliment and asked Nigerians to pray for them.
