Angola: Rains Claim 13 Lives in Huila Province

Lubango — At least thirteen people died, six got injured and 9,516 became homeless, following the heavy rains that hit southern Huila province between January and February this year, Angop has learnt.

The spokesperson of the Service of Civil Protection and Fire Department, Daniel Pires, said the rains also destroyed 1,586 houses and 1,000 hectares of agricultural lands.

The victims received building materials, foodstuff, among other goods, said the source.
