Angola: Police Women Discuss Domestic Violence

Kuito — A lecture on domestic violence occurred Thursday at district command of Fire-Fighter Department in Kuito, central Bié province, under the promotion of the Association of Angolan Police Women (AMPA).

During the event, the coordinator, Elisdalia Palmira, urged the married couples and the society in general to work together with view to avoid the cases of domestic violence, aimed at the welfare of the communities.

Elisdalia Palmira, who mentioned the badly handled polygamy, excessive use of alcoholic drink and others as the main causes of domestic violence, advised the police and military women to avoid using uniform, fire arm and ranks as a means of power at home.

On the other hand, the official also urged men to treat their wives with love and affection.
