Angola: Methodist Bishop Voices for Country's Development

Luanda — The bishop of the United Methodist Church of Angola, Gaspar Jõao Domingos, today asked his churchgoers and all angolans to unite for the country's development using all their skills.

Celebrating the 125 years of methodism in Angola, bishop Domingos recalled that Angola must honour all those who died for the country's independence. Bishop Willaim Taylor arrived in Angola in 1875, heading a group of 45 american methodists with the aim to improve health and education services and acording to bishop Domingos the hurch has always sided by the disadvantageds and by those who fought for the country's independence won in 1975.

Several activities will mark the 125th anniversary of the methodist church in Angola as blood donation campaigns, a solidarity visit to the paedriatic hospital of Cajueiros, in Luanda, and worships throughout Angola.
