Nigeria: 'Amobi Snubbed Harvard'

Lagos — Austin Okoye, father of American football star, Amobi Okoye has revealed how his son snubbed a Harvard University scholarship to study medicine for a less prestigious college that had a better football culture.

That decision of Amobi has now catapulted him to the summit of American football, earning wages in six digits at Texans in the National Football League (NFL) in less than four years of been drafted. Speaking in Lagos at the weekend, the older Okoye who is not regretting ever allowing his son to choose his own career admitted that it was a difficult decision for him to make, given his love for quality education.
