Nigeria: Cross River Gets N9.8 Billion Loan for Water Project

Calabar — Determined to expand its water supply, the Cross River State government has obtained a loan valued at 42 million pound (about N9.8 billion) from Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC).

Managing Director of Cross River State Water Board Limited, Mr. Etowa Elemi, who disclosed this in Calabar on Tuesday, pointed out that the water expansion scheme for which the loan was obtained would cover three local government areas - Abi, Obubra and Yala.
