Eritrea: Sawa Vocational Training Center Striving to Nurture Skilled Manpower

Sawa — The Sawa Vocational Training Center is redoubling efforts towards nurturing competent manpower in different fields, according to Mr. Fisehaye Kidane, director of the Center.

He noted that the Center is striving to nurture skilled youths who play major role in the national development drive, and that over 10,000 students have so far graduated from the Center over the past few years.

Mr. Daniel Gebrehiwet, an instructor in the department of building construction, said that due focus is made on wood and metal works, as well as the installation of water pipelines, in addition to technical drafting, computer application and the English language. He further explained that student performance in the course is quite commendable.

The Sawa Vocational Training Center was set up in 2007 and currently it comprises 5 different schools, including that of Agricultural Technology, Building Construction, modern agricultural and construction machineries, as well as Business and Management.
