Nigeria: Sustaining Polio Free Lagos

Abuja — MOTHERS in Lagos State have a reason to vaccinate their children against childhood diseases. As far reaching as it sounds, the women raising their children in the Centre of Excellence believe that only a healthy child can attend school. They are also of the opinion that an educated child is assured of a good standard of living while those without education are fully prepared for a life of hardship.

This philosophy was encapsulated in the speech given by Deaconess Olajumoke Banky-Adenusi, a well-known women leader in Kosofe Local Government Area of the state during the March 6, flag off ceremony of the National Immunisation Plus Days (NIPDs).
