Nigeria: Jos Crisis - Ex-House Members Want Indicted Sponsors Punished

Abuja — Former members of the House of Representatives have called on the Federal Government to prosecute indicted sponsors of the recurring crisis in Jos Plateau State and its environs as a way of providing a permanent solution to the crisis in the area as well as serving as a deterrent to others.

The former representatives under the aegis of the Former Members of House of Representatives Forum, in a statement issued in Abuja yesterday, and jointly signed by the former Minister of State for Justice, Hon, Musa Elayo and Hon Emeka Nwajuba, interim chairman and Secretary respectively noted that though the arraignment of some alleged perpetrators of the latest massacre in Dogo Nahawa and other villages in Plateau State is a welcome development, government should be more pro-active by ensuring that those who sponsor such wanton destructions are brought to book.
