Namibia: Tighter Control On Resources Needed - Nahas

NATURAL resources in Namibia like land and minerals should benefit Namibians and there should be tighter control over them so that foreigners are not advantaged above locals, Prime Minister Nahas Angula urged on Wednesday.

Speaking during the budget debate in the National Assembly, the Prime Minister said that the global economic meltdown had affected Namibia's mining sector and decreased revenue income for the State and Namibia's share from the regional Sacu revenue pool had also been slashed, which called for strategies to compensate for these losses.
