Uganda: Government Seeks to Increase Water Sector Funding

Kampala — The government is seeking for ways of doubling the urban water sub-sector funding as it focuses on availing safe, accessible and affordable drinking water to Ugandans.

During a training on safe water access by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Eng Dominic Kavutse, the Commissioner of Urban water and Sewerage Services at the Ministry of water and Environment said the increasing population growth coupled with high urbanisation, calls for more funding. The government is looking at doubling it by 2015.
