Angola: U.S. Assists Angolans Expelled from DR Congo

Luanda — The US embassy in Angola is releasing USD 50,000 on Tuesday in Luanda, for humanitarian assistance to nationals expelled from the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo.

The amount, which is meant for people currently settled in the districts of Bembe and Ambuila, northern Uíge province, will be managed by the International Organisation for Migrations (IOM).

It will be used in the purchase and supply of assistance materials, including ploughing instruments and seeds.

The hand-over ceremony, that will be chaired by the US ambassador to Angola, Dan Mozena, will be attended by IOM representatives and Social Welfare Ministry officials.
