Zimbabwe: Ten Years for Stealing Copper Cables

Harare — Four Harare men were recently sentenced to an effective 10 years each in prison after being caught in possession of 29km of Zesa cables worth US$440 000 in Concession.

Mathew Gonzo (30) of New Tafara, Western Nzindira (36) of Epworth, Jorum Uzande (32) of Glen View, and Tawanda Muzondo (27) also from Glen View, pleaded guilty to violating provisions of the Electricity Act before Bindura Magistrate Mrs Mavis Kumbawa.
