Nigeria: Ibori - Militants Ambush Onovo's Men

Abuja/Lagos — An attempt to arrest former Delta State Governor James Ibori failed yesterday as militants protecting him attacked police officers delegated by the Inspector General of Police Ogbonna Onovo on the outskirts of Delta State yesterday.

The delegation which included an Assistant Inspector General of Police, the State Commissioner of Police Yakubu Adamu Alkali, two Assistant Commissioners of Police and 10 operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was led by Deputy Inspector General of Police Ekpodo Udom.
