Nigeria: Day Lagos Swooped On Environmental Sanitation Defaulters

Lagos — WHEN THE Lagos State Government, under the former Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declared that last Saturday of every month be observed as environmental sanitation across the State, the intention was clear; to ensure that filth generated across the state are properly cleared up and disposed properly.

To show its seriousness, Tinubu also sent a bill to back up the declaration to the House of Assembly for approval and was so granted which saw the establishment of the Environmental Sanitation Law 2000. Hence, movement within the state is restricted between 7 and 10am to observe environmental sanitation.
