Nigeria: Ministry, Engineers Partner On Girl-Child Education

Lagos — Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development is to collaborate with the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) in the promotion of science, technical and engineering education among young women and girls in the country.

Receiving members of the Abuja Branch of APWEN in her Office, Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Iyom Josephine Anenih, said that for Nigeria to be among the top 20 economies of the world by the Year 2020, women and girls must be educationally empowered, especially in engineering, science and technical education, to enable them contribute to national development.
