Zimbabwe: Tension Rises in Mwenezi After Schoolboy Kills Zanu PF Thug

column

Political tension in Masvingo's Mwenezi district was said to be high, after a 15 year old schoolboy exacted his own revenge last week Sunday by killing the ZANU PF thug who murdered his father in 2008. An MDC official in the area told Newsreel that Nhamo Machacha was stabbed in the stomach by the fifteen year old, after a scuffle broke out at a church service.

Machacha, true to his reputation, had gone to the church service in Neshuro Growth Point to harass worshippers, for yet undisclosed reasons. He had demanded that the service be aborted when suddenly the schoolboy pulled out a knife and stabbed him. The boy has been arrested by the police who claim he is helping them with investigations. The MDC official was reluctant to link the incident with the murder of the schoolboy's father in the June 2008 election violence, saying they were still investigating.

But several press reports have confirmed that the boy's father, Lameck Muripo, was killed by a gang of ZANU PF thugs led by Machacha. The 'revenge' attack has now fuelled tensions in the area with the ZANU PF MP Kudakwashe Bhasikiti openly urging his party supporters to retaliate, according to the MDC official.

Meanwhile police are hunting down several MDC youth leaders after the party successfully held a demonstration in Masvingo last week, demanding the arrest of people who committed crimes in the run up to the 2008 elections. On Wednesday police raided the MDC provincial office and arrested one official known as Dziva. He was later released on US$50 bail. Dziva and the others are being accused of participating in a march 'likely to cause public disorder and disturbing the peace.'

These incidents have demonstrated the potential powder-keg that is the unresolved national healing and reconciliation question. Thousands of people who lost loved ones during ZANU PF sponsored election violence all want justice, and the longer it takes the more they will resort to desperate measures to get it. The governments national healing organ has been criticized for being nothing more than a talk shop and not having 'a specific mandate to investigate past atrocities, to hear and record testimonies, to compel victims and offenders to own up,' or have a compensation package.

I've read a number of reports of this incident and none of them confirm that the boy was even an MDC member? What they do report is some extreme responses to this crime from people who would be arrested and charged with threatening behaviour and incitement to violence in any equitable society. This strikes me as the shocked response of people who feel they are untouchable and entitled to do as they please.

Very sad that a 15 year old would feel he needed to do this. It shows what desparation can ensue when the law is not administered fairly.

Sadly for this youngster it has come to this but it is a bad call. Obviously Mugabe's government has done nothing to investigate the deaths of MDC supporters because they are responsible for those killings, so the only way retribution can be achieved is through the courts of law. It's a naive statement to make right now considering all those bribed judges, but once universal law prevails within the country, MDC MUST take up this cause vigorously and see that justice is done so that people can move on with their lives and incidences like this do not happen. Now Zanu- PF have sharpened their teeth and will make an example of this kid causing a double tragedy to this one family whilst the culprits go Scots-free.

    Kjrs120;

This is the second example of MDC violence and thuggery in as many weeks. Last week the thugs were on one of their own, at their party headquarters - Harvest House - the centre of violence and thuggery, whom they are accusing of supporting or promoting a faction, within the sellout MDC-T party, led by Biti. They are at it again, but this time going to the extent of killing an innocent man, in a church; imagine, because of hearsay. Was the MDC-T thug and murderer there when his father was killed? Most likely he wasn’t but now a life has been lost for no apparent reason.

It is unfortunate that, because MDC-T is founded on violent principles, they often got away with it the moment they allege it was ZANU-PF who did the deed. But now it is becoming increasingly difficult to conceal their barbaric acts.

The lie that the MDC-T thug was "revenging" his father's death at the hands of the deceased is ridiculous as it is idiotic and foolish. Who in his right sense will believe the propaganda that a person can kill another in a church and allege "revenge"? Why in the church and not anywhere else where these have often met? This only proves that MDC-T is not only a barbaric and uncivilized party but is also satanic and devilish in its approach and character.

Not so long ago the same thugs were beating up and dispossessing ZANU-PF supporters of their property alleging that they were recovering their own property allegedly taken by ZANU-PF youths before that. Why take the law into their own hands if they themselves are not violent? Why not leave it for everybody to prove that ZANU-PF is the violent party as they allege? It is all because ZANU-PF is just a scapegoat for them to be more murderous and violent.

They killed their own members and alleged that it was ZANU-PF. Had no one seen this MDC-T thug killing the innocent man, in a church, they would have alleged that it was ZANU-PF youths who killed one of their own? MDC-T violent, barbaric and uncivilized thugs are capable of doing, saying or alleging anything, including that the Magunje woman was beheaded by ZANU-PF youths in front of her children when this is a total fabrication to tarnish the image of the revolutionary party.

All Zimbabweans should view the puppet party for what it really is - a violent party founded on violent, thuggery, barbaric and uncivilized principles.

Takki, you've got a lot of gall and no soul. If you actually believe that horse sh*t that you've written the there's no hope for your redemption. Maggot must pay you an awful lot of money to sh*t on your own people. I'll bet your own family hates you. Right?

DL: "...(rhodie conqueror). .. must pay you an awful lot of money to sh*t on your own people. .."

Why are you bothered? A rhodie - who is self-defined as smart - would find more useful ways to spend time other than the rhodie conqueror and supporters that he despices. [Hence, YOU are NOT smart. Check again: Maybe some 'inferior' blood must have slipped into your bloodline while your terrorblancheists slept.. HA.]

    .

    " .. to sh*t on your own people. .."

Maybe doing thus on Takunya's own people is bad. I agree. Do you mind if Cde Mugabe continues to sh*t on the rhodie queen's people?
