Mozambique: No More Hunger in Mapupulo, but Poverty Remains

Mapupulo — Residents of the Mapupulo administrative post, in Montepuez district, in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado, say that they no longer have problems of food shortages, but they are still facing poverty.

Speaking during a rally on Sunday addressed by President Armando Guebuza in his working visit to Cabo Delgado, the residents of Mapupulo said that they can no longer complain of hunger, but there are still many problems, related to the cost of electricity, difficult access to pensions, and high fees charged to informal operators, among others.
