Nigeria: Activists Launch Campaign On Constitutional Rights

Lagos — Leading professional and civil society groups in the country have launched a campaign to "ensure the inclusion of legally enforceable human rights in the Constitution".

These include "environmental rights, the right to housing, to health care, to food, to water and to social security; the right of every child to basic nutrition, shelter and the rights of prisoners and persons deprived of their liberty to conditions of detention that are consistent with human dignity".
