Tanzania: Plan Prioritises Poverty Reduction Drive

The Sh11.1 ­trillion Budget for the 2010/11 financial year will be chan­nelled towards the implementation of programmes that have potential for accelerating economic growth and poverty reduction, including 'Kilimo Kwanza', the government said yesterday.

Presenting Budget Estimates before the parliament in Dodoma, Finance and Economic Affairs minister Mr Mustafa Mkulo, said the expenditure policy will focus on improving management of public funds.
