Nigeria: RMG - Elections Monitoring Board Constitutional

Lagos — National Coordinator of Rights Monitoring Group (RMG), Mr. Olufemi Aduwo, weekend, stated that the constitution of Elections Monitoring and Observation Board by former Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Maurice Iwu, was legal, calling for its enlargement to include more stakeholders in monitoring voters' registration and conduct of elections.

On whether the Jonathan administration can conduct credible elections as promised in the face of the possibility of the President contesting in the 2011 elections, Aduwo who described Jonathan as an honest leader who is not ambitious, said it is possible for him to do so.
