Freetown — 1 Blood International Hospital in Bo has rendered free surgical operation to one Mohamed Fofana, a native of Rokorong in the Yoni chiefdom, Tonkolili district, who has been afflicted with multiple hyenea for a couple of years with no means for a cure.
The operation was very successful and Mohamed Fofana is alive and kicking.
When asked about his impression after surviving the life-threatening ailment, Fofana expressed his gratitude to 1 Blood International for helping save his life.
He said the surgery was free including medicines and feeding.
Mr. Fofana described 1 Blood International's director, Dr. Kenneth Jackson as a saviour and a philanthropist.
Other patients who were admitted at the surgery ward of the hospital said the cost of treatment at the center was reasonable, adding that 1 Blood, despite being a private hospital, was proving affordable service to the poor.
Dr. Kenneth Jackson, a disease elimination specialist, owner and director of the 1 Blood Hospital, said the hospital was running on a cost recovery basis, noting all his medicines were from the United States and India. He therefore stressed that his hospital caters for high quality health delivery service.
According to Dr. Jackson, the survival of patients was of paramount concern to 1 Blood and not the money.
The executive director affirmed his commitment to improving on the quality health delivery service in the country.
He called on all to consider the hospital as a center for humanity with the mandate of providing medical treatment at affordable cost to all.
The 1 Blood Hospital is equipped with an outpatient ward, surgery, pharmacy, admission ward with high quality beds, adequate water supply and 24-hour electricity.
Dr. Jackson said nurses, CHOs and doctors at the hospital were trained and qualified to handle emergencies.
