Nigeria: Jonathan Rally - 'Yuguda Has No Special Role'

Bauchi — Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda is not playing any special role in the rally by a group known as the Jonathan Movement slated for Saturday in Bauchi, his Media aide, Sanusi Mohammed has said.

Speaking to our correspondent in Bauchi yesterday, Mohammed said the governor would be attending the event like any other invited governor.

"As the leader of the party in the state, he has to make sure that the rally succeeds, but he has no special role to play. The rally is not being sponsored by the governor, but a Non Governmental Organization. But because it is taking place in Bauchi, it is the responsibility of the government to provide the needed security for it to succeed", he said.

Our correspondent reports that posters of the governor with President Goodluck Jonathan adorn many several billboards in the state.

Cheers to the group for your brave support of Jonathan. It is okay to rally for him because he seems to be for all Nigerians. He is a good BROTHER!!! No part of the country should worry about him neglecting them. The man is doing a good job trying to clean up Nigeria. All Nigerian youths in particular must rally around him to take over leadership and save all of us. Enough of electing ARMED RUBBERS who are stealing from the country!!! Abacha's son has been recently convicted of looting the country's funds with the help of his father. Hope he cough out all the stolen money...Cheers to Bauchi people, and their Governor.
