The Super Eagles' third place at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations saw the hasty replacement of head coach Shaibu Amodu by Sweden's former head coach, Lars Lagerback.
Lagerback has coached his national team twice at the World Cup, in Korea/Japan in 2002 and Germany in 2006. The 61-year-old Swede has also taken the side to four consecutive European Championships.
