Africa: Central Africa Intends to Create Military Block

Luanda — The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) intends to create within the Economic Community of Central Africa States (ECCAS) a military organisation similar to that one existing in the SADC region, AFGOP has learnt.

Thus, a Congolese military team, led by the general inspector of the local Armed Forces, Norbert Dabida, is since Tuesday in Luanda,

That general said at his arrival that is visit is part of the existing good relations between the two states, mainly in military field.

"We came under a visit of exchange of experience and training, taking into account the experience Angola has in the field of control and collective security", he said.

The visiting team, that was received by the general inspector of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), general Rafael Sapinlinha Sambalanga, includes inspectors from DRC's various military branches.
