Damba — At least 266 Angolans expelled from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), who have been resettled in Damba City, near Uíge City, recently received plots of land for construction of residences, ANGOP learnt from an official source.
According to the official of the provincial department of social welfare, Joaquim Vidal Zangui, the beneficiaries also received food and various other goods such as zinc sheets, hoes, axes, files and saws.
The 266 recipients are heads of families grouped in peasants associations.
Damba District, located north of the province, has a population estimated at over 100, 000 people.
