Luanda — The president of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, arrived this Wednesday morning in Luanda, for a two-day official visit to Angola, under the invitation of the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.
At the International "4 de Fevereiro" airport, the Sahrawi statesman received greetings from Angola's Welfare and Social Reintegration minister, João Baptista Kussumua.
According to a programme that ANGOP had access to, Mohamed Abdelaziz will go to the Independence Square to deposit a wreath at the statue of the country's first president, António Agostinho Neto, moving later to the Presidential Palace, where he is to be received by the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.
According to a press note issued by the secretary for Press and Institutional Affairs of the Angolan Presidency, the visit happens under the friendly and cooperation relations existing between the two countries.Western Sahara is a territory in North Africa bounded by Morocco (north), Algeria (east), Mauritania (east and south) and by the Atlantic Ocean (west) facing the Spanish autonomous region of Canary Islands.
The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic was admitted in 1982, in the then Organisation of African Unity (OAU), with the support of the Republic of Angola.
