Angola: Western Sahara Cooperate in Family, Social Welfare

Luanda — Future cooperation in the fields of family and social welfare between Angola and the Sarhawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) was analysed Thursday in Luanda, Angop learned.

This was during a meeting of the Angolan ministers of Social Welfare, João Baptista Kussumua, and of Family and Women Promotion, Genoveva Lino with the secretary of State for Social Affairs and Women Promotion of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Makfoucla Rahal.

The meeting served for the parties to present projects carried out in various fields in each of the two countries.

Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, the Angolan minister of Family and Women Promotion, Genoveva Lino, said her department will closely examine the work done by the SADR in the domain of family, before moving on to specific areas of cooperation.

Genoveva Lino expressed satisfaction at the work done by that country concerning the development and wellbeing of the Sahrawi women, saying the cooperation between the two countries will lead to improving the gender situation.

In his turn, João Baptista Kussumua said Angola has much experience in social welfare that might be taken as an incentive by countries undergoing similar situtations.

Meanwhile, the SADR secretary of State for Social Welfare and Women Promotion said she was impressed with the projects being carried out by Angolan Government concerning the improvment of the country's families conditions.

The meeting of the Angolan ministers of Social Welfare, Family and Women Promotion, João Baptista Kussumua and Genoveva Lino, respectively, with SADR secretary of State for Social Affairs and Women Promotion, Makfoucla Rahal, was under the visit that country's head of State, Mohamed Abdelaziz, started in Angola on Wednesday.
