Luena — At least 140 visas were issued in the consulate of the Republic of Zambia, in Moxico, this year, less than 55 comparing to the past year, ANGOP has learnt Thursday from an official source.
The consul in charge Alice Kango, who provided the information, said it was 94 ordinary visas, transit visas 22 and 11 double entry and 13 safe conducts.
Alice Kango explained that the reduction is due to the behaviour of some traders who do not pay the USD 50 charged for visa issuance and use other ways of tax invasion.
She also explained that apart from issuing visas with a duration of 30 days, the Zambian consulate proceeds to the translation of certificates of qualifications of Angolans who studied there, for their integration into the labour market.
The Zambian consulate works in the city of Luena, capital of Moxico province, since 2007.
