Nigeria's U-20 women soccer team Chief Coach, Adat Egan believes his girls will bounce back from their 1-1 draw with England in their opening match of the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women Cup in Germany when they take on Japan today in their second group match.
England and Nigeria fought tooth and nail for every inch of ground on Wednesday as both teams favoured offensive tactics and amply justified their places among the 16 best in the world. Kerys Harrop handed the English a first-half lead, but Desire Oparanozie levelled after the break to earn the Africans a share of the spoils.
Egan, while admitting that his ladies missed several chances which they could have converted to goals in the match, however assured soccer-loving Nigerians that all the lapses would be corrected before their take on Japanese ladies today.
"I was not too impressed with the outcome of the match because we deserved to win that game. We created so many chances but the ladies failed to convert them to goals. I am so worried because we need to score as many goals as possible in our next match if we want to qualify from the group," he said.
Super Falconets will require maximum points from today's game with Japan if they hope to advance to the next round of the competition.
