Uganda: Health Experts Flown in to Treat Kampala Bombing Victims

Kampala — The African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) has deployed ten medical experts to support Mulago National Hospital in efforts to treat patients injured in the July 11 bomb blasts in Kampala.

Doctors msotly from Kenya are experts in neurosurgery, orthopaedics, anaesthesia, intensive care and psychology started worked yesterday as they complement efforts of Ugandan doctors. The Ministry of Health approached AMREF because of its past experience in handling patients after the 1998 bombing of the American Embassy in Nairobi that killed about 212 people.
