Nigeria: Don't Lose Focus, Uduaghan Charges New SSG

Asaba — DELTA State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, yesterday, swore in the first female Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dr. Beatrice Omeni, charging her to remain steadfast and not allow the volume of politicking to distract and make her lose focus.

The governor said the position of SSG was strategic and central in achieving the three-point agenda of the state government which is the engine room of government.

According to him: "Try and remain on the part of truth and honour. Be diligent and calm and let God direct you. I call on public officers to be cautious and allow due process to govern their activities.

The new SSG is your friend when you are doing the right things but you may not be comfortable with her if you are on the wrong track."

The governor used the occasion to say that he accepted the resignation of the former SSG who decided to quit in order to further his political ambition because of his firm belief that Dr. Okowa was very relevant in the PDP family.
