Sudan/Kenya: Rare Away Win As Country Beats Sudan

Nairobi — The national under-20 team gave Kenya a rare away international win with a 2-0 beating of Sudan 2-0 in African qualifier for the 2010 World Youth championship.

A win, a draw or a narrow loss of 1-0 will see Kenya procced to the third round of the qualifiers against South Africa and Lesotho.

Lesotho beat their hosts South 2-0 on Saturday. The Kenyan contingent of 25 is expected back this morning to proceed to camp to prepare for the return leg scheduled for August 7th.

The national technical director, Patrick Naggi expressed confidence of the Kenyans emerging winners in the return leg. "We will not spare anything to ensure good preparations," said Naggi.

In their preparations before departure to Khartoum, the team coached by Vince Ombiji beat JMJ Academy 4-1 before going down 0-4 to Tuskers FC.
