Professor Dora Akunyili took up arms against the then First Lady Turai Yar'adua because she failed to be anointed as PDP's Anambra governorship candidate in February's election despite heavy lobbying, according to accounts by her kinsman Charles Soludo.
Akunyili, the Minister of Information and Communications, had been critical of Turai when Yar'adua was ill, stopping just short of naming her among a 'cabal' that allegedly held the late president hostage.
