Commissioners of agriculture across the 36 states in Nigeria are to meet as part of efforts to protect Nigeria from worsening effects of food security and climatic difficulties.
National Agriculture, Land and Rural Development Committee (NALRDC) in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have called the meeting to discuss adaptation and sustainable production technologies that would boost crop production.
A statement released from the Communications Department of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture signed by the Assistant Director of Press, Haruna Matthew, indicates that land resources management and rural development are issues that would be considered at the meeting due to the central role they play in ensuring food availability.
According to the statement, the meeting would also be attended by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Agricultural Development Program (ADP) officers as a way of ensuring improved livelihoods and better living conditions for Nigerians through food security.
