Luanda — Angola breaks record of participants at the level of six editions of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP) games, instituted in 1990.
Held in 2005, in Luanda, the 5th edition of CPLP games brought together 700 athletes, male and female, more than 100 comparing to the event held in 2008, in Brazil.
In addition to the participations record, Angola witnessed the introduction of the handicapped sports, and one at organisational level.
During 2008 games that occurred in Brazil, Angola won three golden medals in athletics for visual impaired (class t11), and the country is optimistic about winning others at the 7th edition of competition scheduled to start Thursday in Maputo, Mozambique.
