Nigeria: Kidnap - Ikwuano Indigenes Condemn Monarchs' Involvement

Kano — People of Ikwuano, one of the communities in Abia State implicated in the kidnap saga for which a traditional ruler in the area, Vincent Uche, is already dethroned and facing prosecution for alleged complicity in Kano, have condemned the involvement of traditional rulers from the area in the heinous crime.

A statement from Ikwuano Development Union made available to Daily Independent said the General Assembly of Ikwuano people condemns in very strong terms the allegation of involvement of a traditional ruler from the community in the dreaded kidnap business and disassociated the people of Ikwuano from "all acts of delinquency whether exhibited by adults or adolescents, rulers or followers."
