TWO members of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia Chapter board of trustees have asked the organisation's chairperson Henry Kabwe to resign following financial irregularities cited in an audit report released last month.
The two trustees, Gilbert Mudenda and Masautso Phiri gave Mr Kabwe up to 17:00 hours yesterday to resign from his position.
In a letter to Mr Kabwe, they alleged the mismanagement of funds, which included K70 million given to MISA Zambia by Save the Children, should warrant Mr Kabwe's resignation.
But Mr Kabwe said he was not going to resign because the calls being made by the two trustees were not justified.
"The MISA constitution does not give power to the members of the board of trustees to make such calls, they only have an advisory role to play and they can only come in if the board of directors was dissolved," he said.
