Namibia: Brave Warriors in Fitness Battle

THE Brave Warriors are in "bad" physical condition, assistant coach Ronnie Kanalelo told The Namibian Sport yesterday.

"We did a fitness test yesterday (Monday) and it was bad," said the former international goalkeeper during a training session of day two of their 'August 11 training camp'. "But it's understandable because some of these guys have not played for three months. Some guys also don't have clubs since the end of the season."

The Brave Warriors have still to secure an opponent although Kanalelo hinted that they may get an "away game" against "a team ranked in the top 40".

He blamed their poor fitness levels on domestic football's inability to get out of the starting blocks for the new season even though other footballing nations' leagues have begun pre-season conditioning. Kanalelo added that he is hopeful that his unfit Warriors will get some much needed game-time as soon as domestic clubs begin with their pre-season training.
