ATHLETICS Namibia (AN) will send two teams to represent the country at international meets in September and October.

The athletics ruling body announced on Tuesday that Hilalia Johannes and Luketz Swartbooi would travel to Nanning, China, to compete at the 19th IAAF World Half Marathon Championships on October 16.

Another pair, Helena Iipinge and Johannes Naitembu, will compete at the Confederation of African Athletics Associations Southern Region Half Marathon Championships in Malawi on September 12.

"After the successful National Half Marathon Championship held at Swakopmund on July 17, Athletics Namibia is pleased to announce the selection of two teams to represent Namibia at international competition," read a statement by AN Secretary General Frank Slabbert, who will accompany the two teams on their trips along with his vice president, Modestus Mwiila.
