Angola: Armed Forces Chief Stresses Importance of National Industry

Benguela — The chief of general staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) general Francisco Pereira Furtado, Wednesday, in Lobito, Benguela province, considered important to transform into economic development areas those zones that in the past used to serve FAA.

Speaking to Angop on the sidelines of the launching of cornerstone ceremony of the construction of cement factory called "Palanca Cimentos" project, to be built in the training zone of FAA in Hanha do Norte (Lobito district), the general considered as an honour to see achieved the economic development projects of the country.

"It is an honour for the soldiers seeing that the country is growing and military and political stability is contributing to relaunching of all activities that aim people's well-being", said the general.

Concerning the factory "Palanca Cimentos", general Furtado welcomed the project, as it will enable build many infrastructures, mainly big and better military units.

The factory "Palanca Cimentos" will produce 1.6 million tones of the product. It is one of the biggest infrastructures of the country that will provide jobs to 550 citizens among them young and former soldiers.
