Luanda — The new models for competition of national football championship of the second division, dubbed "Girangola", will be discussed this year at a meeting between the Angolan Federation of Football (FAF) and the provincial Associations, an official source told Angop Tuesday.
The information was released by FAF's secretary-general, Augusto da Silva.
The official noted that the designation, which had been approved in a meeting with sports branches in 2008, in northern Uije province, aims at moving the clubs across the country, due to the free movement in force nationwide since 2002.
The meeting, headed by the chairperson of the Angolan Federation of Football, Justino Fernandes, announced for 2009 the kicking off of the competition characterised by "all against all" models", similar to the national championship of the first division.
Some clubs, the source added, had expressed concern about travelling expenses during the competition, due to the financial reasons.
According to the secretary- general, before starting the next meeting, aimed at finding out a solution for the competition, the provincial associations will meet with clubs to avoid discontent.
