Aligidir — The construction of a micro-dam within Aligidir Agricultural Project is making significant role in enabling the farming community to harvest twice a year, and thereby improve their socio-economic wellbeing, stated Mr. Hadish Futsum, head of the project in Biddho Construction Company.

He indicated that the construction of the micro-dam is nearing finalization and that it has already begun holding water. The micro-dam is expected to facilitate irrigation farming on over 4,000 hectares, which in turn created conducive ground for the farmers to actively engage in irrigation farming, on top of usual farming practices during the rainy season.

Mr. Hadish further explained that once finalized, the micro-dam would have the capacity of holding over 7.5 million cubic meters sof water which would provide added impetus to the extensive agricultural project stretching up to Talataasher administrative area.
