Abuja — The issue of who emerges Super Eagles coach is still hazy but Nigeria Football Federation Interim Vice President Obinna Ogba, has given insight as to how it may be put to rest. He revealed that plans are on the way to hire former International Samson Siasia for the Super Eagles, while Austin Eguaevon will be redeployed to the U-23 team. He however failed to comment on the fate of Daniel Amokachi, who has been calling for the sack of Technical Adviser Lars Largerback. But said this weekend will determine whether Lagerback or Siasia will be Eagles coach.
Revealing this in Abuja, Ogba, who was the Ebonyi State PDP Chairman said "we have not signed Samson Siasia. If we sign him, it is not going to be a hidden thing, the whole world would know. There is a plan to sign him, but for now it is still on the drawing board. Our contract with Lars Lagerback is still running. He has not told us that he is not coming back. The last time, the President was quoted out of context, and he has corrected it. Lagerback never told us that he would not come back, but he said we should give him few days to sort out things. It is only after this weekend that we would say categorically, what his fate is". Ogba confirmed that Austin Eguavoen would be redeployed to the U-23 team, where he is expected to produce a formidable squad for the All Africa Games next year, and the Olympic Games holding in London 2014. He was not categorical on the fate of Daniel Amokachi whom we gathered his contract with the Football Federation would expire this weekend along with that of the Technical Adviser Lars Lagerback.
But Leadership Sports checks reveal that it is unlikely that the former Ranchers Bees player would be retained as the football house seems not to be impressed with his performance all through his days with the national team.

We need to stop politics in NFF. We know the right person for Super Eagle's job. Why must we be beating around the bush looking for incompetent substitute? Why must we always believe in 'whiteman' syndrome? They often bring problem instead of progress. We need to apply wisdom in Nigeria and reduce the level at which we patronise foreign resources. Well , since we like 'whiteman' resource, I would rather suggest we import foreign President to head NFF since we believe our fellow countrymen are handicaps____
