Uganda: Time to Work Hard, Restore Villa's Past Glory, Says Muwema

Newly appointed SC Villa Chairman Board of Directors Fred Elijah Muwema has called upon the Villa fraternity to work towards restoring the past glory at the club.

Muwema made the remarks on Tuesday at the Sheraton's Rwenzori Ball room.

Fred Muwema, Franco Mugabe, Omar Mandela, William Nkemba, Adonia Ayebare, Edgar Agaba, Vincent Bagiire, Luyimbazi Mugalu, and Allan Dokoria are the new board members who are tasked to steer the club to greater heights in the new administration structure.

"The tasks we have at SC Villa are mountainous, therefore it's not yet time to celebrate, as a new board we pledge to do our part but our success is tied with you (Villa family)," Muwema said.

Giving new hope

Adding that "For those who have been frustrated, we give you a new hope and we promise to effectively lead you to another level,"

Muwema commended the outgoing executive led by Franco " Capo" Mugabe who he said had made Villa a very big brand awarding them with medals and certificates for the excellent job they have done for the club since they took over office in 1993.

"No doubt Villa is a big brand, not only in Uganda but the entire region and the continent, the new leadership will do everything possible to consolidate that," he said.

Muwema, however warned that the new business approach to the management of the club will provide no room for players or officials misconduct adding that the club's initial authorized share capital of Shs600m will be raised from the Directors.
