Gambia: CGF Gives to Armitage SSS

Janjangbureh — The Care Gambia Foundation in Netherlands over the weekend donated some learning materials worth over D331, 200.00 to Amitage Senior Secondary School in Janjangbureh, Central River Region south (CRR).

The donated items include 18 flat screen computers, 1printer, 36 chairs and 32 tables.Speaking at the presentation ceremony, David Haffner, the principal of the school commended the donors for the laudable gesture they are rendered to the school.

He said the donated materials will go a long way in complementing government efforts in providing such materials to the school.He called on the students to make best use of the opportunities accorded to them and noting that the school was facing some constraints in the area of IT. According to him, these computers will solve some of the issues affecting the school.

On his part, Jan Van Eck, a computer expert from The Netherlands, thanked the staff and students of Armitage for their hospitality and warm welcome accorded to them. He said that, their foundation is a charitable one based in the Netherlands. He added that it was established in 2003 with the aim of supporting the education and health sectors which are top priorities of every human being.

He revealed that, they collected materials from companies, institutions and the government of The Netherlands and sent them to these two ministries which are mainly their targets.Eck urged the students to make best use of the donated items.

He finally applauded one Lamin Conteh who is a Gambian and a student studying electronic and biomedical in The Netherlands for his unflinching support.Other speakers at the occasion include Lamin Conteh, Harry Jan Zutphen a teacher from Netherlands and Musa Mbenga the second vice principal of the school.
