Janjangbureh — Sololo Basic Cycle School (SBCS) in Upper Fulladu West, Central River Region south recently held their annual speech and prize giving ceremony at the school grounds.
The ceremony was attended by parents, staff, students and well-wishers.Speaking at the occasion, Baboucarr Suwareh, the director of Region 5 deputising for the Governor of the Region Alhaji Ganyie Touray called on the out-going students to continue to work hard in school noting that they have a big opportunity as the President always said Â'for education, the sky is the limitÂ'.
According to him, these are young people who always need counselling and the role of the parents in guiding these young future leaders cannot be over emphasised. He finally advised them to make good use of the educational opportunities accorded to them by the government.
Delivering his annual report, Demba Jallow, the principal of the School, described the occasion as one with mixed feelings as they are parting with students who were part and parcel of the school for the past nine years. According to him, the School adopted these students as one family and they have trained them to acquire good character and learning skills.
He noted that the students have worked tirelessly to fulfil the SchoolÂ's academic requirements that qualified them to graduate. He however urged them to prepare for the next stage in their education career as they have a long journey ahead of them.Jallow further called on them to take up the challenges if they want to succeed in life. He commended all those who have contributed towards the success of the School.prizes were also awarded to the deserving students.
