Gambia: New Jeshwang LBS Visits Observer

35 students and 4 teachers from New Jeshwang Lower Basic School on Thursday afternoon visited the Observer Company, publisher of the Daily Observer along Gacem Road in Kanifing.

The purpose of their visit is to have a first class information on how the newspaper isproduced and published. Speaking to the Daily Observer shortly after having a conducted tour of the Observer offices, Jankeh Bayo, a teacher of the New Jeshwang Lower Basic School said the purpose of their visit was to know how the company operates in its daily news paper production, among other issues. She said that they have learnt a lot from all the units that they visited in the Observer Company.

According to her, the visit will impact positively on the academic and social lives of the students, adding that the students are inspired with what they saw and some of them want to become journalists in future.She finally thanked the Observer staff for their generosity and pray that the company continues to serve the people in this country and beyond.

On his part, Sulayman Jallow, a Grade 6 student in the school, said the visit has given him the opportunity to learn more about newspaper production. He advised his fellow students to take their education seriously so that they can achieve their goals in future.

Fakebba Colley, a teacher in the school, also reiterated the sentiments of the previous speakers and thanked the Observer Company for giving them the opportunity to visit the company.
