Namibe — The 6th edition of the agricultural fair, meant for the exhibition of the agricultural potential of the south-western Namibe province, opened on Friday here.
The event is part of the programme to create business opportunities among local producers. The fair, which is being promoted by the provincial department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, is serving to exhibit various horticultural and tuber products, as well as agricultural tools.
Speaking to Angop, farmer José António praised the initiative of the provincial department of the ministry, as it is representing an opportunity for a direct contact between producers and consumers. In addition, he said, the holding of these kind of fairs encourages the farmers and local small peasants to exercise the activity and thus contribute to fight poverty.
