Angola: UN Workers Defends More Training for African Women

Luanda — The United Nations Information Department official, Kadi Beye, spoke of the need for higher awareness and training for African women, aimed at reducing infant mortality and improve maternal-infant health in the continent.

Speaking to Angop, on the occasion of the Africa Women Day (July 31), the official stated that African leaders should make more effort to increase training for protection of women and children.

The UN worker also said that in Africa, women make about 51 percent of the population, a reason why authorities should pay more attention to them. Kadi Beye who is currently working at the United Nations Information Department, in New York, lived in Angola for five years.
